One of the most importants touristic sides of Rio de Janeiro, The statue of Christ the Redeemer is the largest and famous art déco sculpture of de world. Instaled in the top of Corcovado Mountain at Parque Nacional da Tijuca, to get there is a nice ride through the Mata Atlântica and clouds above 710 meters over sea leavel, by van or train. The trip takes 20 minutes.

Check the weather before to go to The Christ Redeemer, even the weather is good, Take a coat with you. The weather frequently change quicly.
Set aside at least half a day to visit the Christ.
If you are going by yourself ( without a tour), buy yout ticket in advance. (Check below how to get it)
Try to visit the Christ in a sunshine day, but if it couldn't be possible, be sure to visit, it is an incredible experience.
If possible, goes up to Corcovado mountain in a hour that you could take the sunset. You'll can see the city's light turn on, is really amazing.
There are a snack bar, restaurant and souvenir store at Corcovado, but, keep a bottle of water and snacks with you. The lines usually are very big, and weather hot.
Try to goes up by train. Is really the best way to get there.
You can't get there by car, taxi or bus. It's necessary take a tour, a van (Two ways) or by train. There are three points to departure ( See the map below).
The last departures are at 5pm for both services (train or vans)
