Arcos da Lapa

Rio’s Old aqueduct, known Lapa Arches, is one of the best-known sites in the city, as well as one of most the most representative symbols of old Rio, fully preserved to this day at the bohemian neighborhood of Lapa.

Built in Colonial Period with 42 double arcs, the aqueduct is an impressive construction in Downtown Rio. Above the arcs, the famous “Bondinho de Santa Teresa” cross the region to Santa Teresa direction from Main Station.
